You – A Poem

I traveled many miles to be with you.

I saw you there, standing there

as if not even an ounce of care.

You looked at me and I could see

not a trace of love in your eyes.

I turned away to walk away with

so much on my heart to say.

Then you knew that I was

through, I saw it on your face.

Too many tears I’ve cried,

so few times we’ve tried.

As long as the ice is cold and the

desert dry, the salty tap of

tears won’t fall from these eyes.
